Architect
Transforming the Slums
"I asked Ann for three Lists: 1) resources to enable me to apply my
architectural expertise to addressing the slums
in West Africa; 2) resources to connect me to prospective entrepreneurs
throughout West Africa so that I can teach how to develop, produce and
market village handicrafts to global markets; 3) resources that connect me to people who would benefit from my web
building and media skills.
Having grown up in Nigeria, I know many resources. Ann gave me
organizations and networks of people that made my mission easier. Ann
did the legwork that I had no time to do. There are few if any
organizations who propose to transform the slums. Ann gave me the
pioneers that I will ally and collaborate with. In working with Ann, I
found that she thinks like I do: both big picture and down to earth;
someone committed to changing the world."

Working with Autistic Children
"I thank Ann very much for the
resource lists sended. I looked for
possibilities (volunteer opportunities
and paid works) to work and live
good quality of life earlier and had a lot of disappointment. I have got
very detailed information from Ann about working with autistic children
in Malta and other Mediterranean and European countries. Ann is honest,
works quickly and soundly, does not discriminate adversely and she has
helpful attitude according to my experience."

Physical Therapy/Occupational Rehabilitation Center
& Wheelchair Manufacturing Shop
When Dutch came to me he
said, "I am 60. I have done wheelchair projects in Rwanda, Afghanistan &
Vietnam. I want to devote the rest of my life to wheelchair projects. I
love Ghana but I am stuck with putting an enduring project together. Can
I schedule a Consult
& get resources?" Dutch emailed 2 months later on progress & how
NGOabroad helped:
"After two trips to
Ghana I had still not gotten my contacts and organizations
to mesh and work together. I had hit a wall and needed some new
direction.
After consulting with Ann I was able to think in a new direction
and make contacts that made things happen. Today I expect to have a
Physical Therapy/Occupational Rehabilitation Center and Wheelchair
Manufacturing
Shop in operation before the end of the year.

NGOabroad's
mission? To help people & grassroots organizations do
amazing things.
Entrepreneur
Most non-profit
organizations struggle to sustain themselves. Steve will help create an
enterprise that sustains an NGO in India. We won't let him stop there as
many of our Partner organizations need his (& your?) creativity &
business savvy.
"Ann, you seem really plugged in.
Your knowledge of world affairs & current events made it possible for us
to determine where my skills would truly be of assistance. Your consultation was like you
took a machete & chopped a path to the meadow of opportunity I'd
been looking for."

Feeding the Hungry
"I grew up on a farm in Nebraska. I've always wanted to see that the
hungry are fed. I have a PhD in Food Processing--I know canning,
preserving, ingredient technology, food safety and slaughtering & meat
processing. I have worked for three decades in the US. As I get older, I
feel more pressed to fulfill my life long dream of doing my part to see
that the truly hungry of this world are fed."
"Ann: I reviewed the lists today. The info you've put together is
priceless.
Kudos for your fine work!!!!"

Public Health: Teamwork from Half a World Away
A friend recommended NGOabroad to me after I completed a Master’s of
Science in International Healthcare
at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. At Bocconi, I met Jovita,
very bright, determined & destined to make a difference. After
graduation, Jovita was having difficulty finding work in her home
country, Uganda. Knowing that NGOabroad assists people in entering
international work, I contacted Ann. Ann helped Jovita clarify her
long-term career goals and matched her education and skills with
potential NGOs. Ann's help with cover letters was pivotal in
Jovita getting her dream job. NGOabroad exceeded all expectations I
had."

Electrician/Solar Installer
“Help me take my skills as an electrician and photovoltaic installer
to the parts of
the world that need electricity. Solar is the perfect solution for
remote places
which have lots of sun.”
